Blade Runner: Black Lotus Anime Gets Adult Swim Premiere Window – But Only in Canada

An estimated premiere window for the Adult Swim anime Blade Runner: Black Lotus has been announced in Canada before the United States.

Corus Entertainment, the company which manages the Canadian Adult Swim network, put out a press release about its upcoming TV premieres, which notes that Blade Runner: Black Lotus will air in the fall.

The highly anticipated anime spinoff of the classic science fiction movie is being directed by Shinji Aramaki and Kenji Kamiyama, with animation production handled by Sola Digital Arts. The series takes place in the year 2032, 10 years after Shinichiro Watanabe's Blade Runner 2022: Black Out short film. Watanabe is serving as a creative producer on the new series.

In the United States, Blade Runner: Black Lotus will premiere on Adult Swim's Toonami block and be available for streaming on Crunchyroll. A release date has not yet been announced.

Other fall premieres announced for Adult Swim Canada include the new comedy series Smiling Friends and Teenage Euthanasia, as well as new seasons of Squidbillies, Robot Chicken, Three Busy Debras, Joe Pera Talks With You, Archer and Harley Quinn. The new season of Joe Pera Talks With You was previously unannounced. While Archer and Harley Quinn air on Adult Swim in Canada, those series are available on FXX and HBO Max respectively in the United States.
