Lucifero has not fully manifested in the human world, yet his immense strength and magical power dominates over the magical knight captains in Chapter 319 of the Black Clover manga. The siege to stop the devils from entering the human world has finally come to an end with the arrival of the king of all devils. Though he's accompanied by another supreme devil that strikes a resemblance to Megicula, only Lucifero is currently battling with the magical knights.
All the brigade captains charge at Lucifero, but not a single one lands a hit. The only one who draws blood from him is Asta, but that’s only because he caught Demon Slayer and cut his finger on its blade. Enraged with how pitiful and weak they are, Lucifero seems to be more annoyed that they would even consider fighting him in the first place. With the odds against them, the magical knights are going to have a tough time defeating Lucifero -- but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible.
Individually, the outmatched brigade captains were unable to inflict any damage on Lucifero and he didn’t even use a single ounce of magic. His presence alone creates so much gravity that the weaker mages can’t even run away. Although their attacks seem pointless, their determination is unmatched. It’s going to take a collaborative effort from all of them to begin inflicting some damage on the supreme devil. Ultimately, the brigade captains are going to act as backup for Asta and Liebe’s devil union.
The devil union between Asta and Liebe will only last for four minutes, which doesn’t seem like nearly enough time to face off against Lucifero. Therefore, the brigade captains must formulate some sort of distraction to allow Asta land a direct hit on him. Four minutes is such a short time that it's probably going to take multiple devil unions to defeat the supreme devil. It seems unlikely, but the death of a brigade captain might open the emotional flood gates needed to trigger a further advancement in the union. Even the sacrifice of captain Yami could be seen as a plausible misfortune in Black Clover's battle to come.
Yuno is certain to play a key role in the destruction of Lucifero, and his new star magic combined with Asta’s devil union could create a sort of catalyst for new magical power. It's possible that since the devil king is not completely manifested in the human world, his body might still need some sort of human host. The captains are going to have to combine their remaining strength with Asta and Yuno to pull off a miracle.
There is also a good chance Julius could make a heroic entrance to buy the mages some time to allow them to power up. Seeing as time is a precious commodity for Asta and Liebe, Julius’ involvement in the battle would actually make sense. The only other option could be to use the Tree of Qliphoth to reopen the doorway to the devil world and stuff Lucifero back in it. Unfortunately the situation is not looking good for the magic knights, and it may take some sort of plot armor miracle to defeat the king of all devils as Black Clover continues.
