The winners of the 2022 Crunchyroll Anime Awards have been announced.
Attack on Titan: The Final Season - Part 1 took home the coveted Anime of the Year award. The beginning of the end to the popular dark-fantasy series was considered by many to be the frontrunner of the competition, and also took home the awards for Best Opening Sequence and Best Antagonist. Fellow shonen juggernauts Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba and Jujutsu Kaisen took home their fair share of awards as well, with Demon Slayer earning awards for Best Animation, Best Score, Best Ending Sequence, Best Movie and multiple awards for its voice performances, while the second-half of Jujutsu Kaisen's first season won Best Fight Scene, Best Character Designs and Best Action. The series' self-sacrificing exorcist, Nobara Kugisaki, also received the award for Best Girl. Crunchyroll released a video showcasing all of the winners.

Notable surprises include ODDTAXI's wins for Best Protagonist and Best Director. The series about a walrus taxi driver received near unanimous critical acclaim when it was released in April, but many expected the sleeper-hit to lose in the user-voted competition against its more commercially successful competitors. Cloverwork's Horimiya took home the award for best romance, but the animation studio's other major 2021 release, Wonder Egg Priority, failed to win any awards despite being nominated in multiple categories. Wonder Egg Priority was widely lauded upon its initial premiere, but was later criticized for what many felt was a lackluster ending and a sharp drop in quality in the series' second half.
The winners of the awards were decided using a system that combined both user votes with picks from an international panel of judges. According to Crunchyroll, over 17 million fans from 200 different countries voted for their favorite shows this year, with the highest amount of votes coming in from Brazil, France, Mexico, United Kingdom and the United States, in alphabetical order.
