Animation studio MAPPA has released two new pieces of art from Attack on Titan: The Final Season - Part 2.
The first image is a key frame from Episode 81 of the series, which aired on Feb. 13. The image shows Connie grabbing Armin by the collar during a particularly heated moment. The second image was posted to the official Japanese Twitter account for the show and depicts several Eldian characters lining up for a portrait. The illustration was posted alongside a message thanking fans for watching the show. The art was created by Episode 81's director, Tokio Igarashi, who previously worked on one of last season's biggest surprise hits, takt op. Destiny, which was also produced by studio MAPPA.

The new images are the sixth batch of art to be released by MAPPA since the Final Season - Part 2's premiere in early January. The company has promised to release new illustrations alongside the premiere of every episode in the show's final half season. Previous art drops included new images of the Founding and Attack Titans, as well as new portraits of the anti-Marleyean rebel Yelena and her extremely meme-able face.
MAPPA is the prolific animation company that took over production of the series for its fourth and final season. The first three seasons of the show were created by Wit Studio, the animation house behind critically acclaimed series such as Vivy: Fluortie Eyes' Song and Ranking of Kings. In addition to Attack on Titan, MAPPA is also known for its work on the anime adaptation of Jujutsu Kaisen and the popular ice-skating romance Yuri!! on Ice.
Attack on Titan was created by Hajime Isayama and debuted in 2009. The manga was a massive commercial success, achieving a worldwide circulation of over 100 million copies. While the bleak fantasy series received widespread acclaim for much of its run, the manga's finale in 2021 was greeted with a notably mixed reception from both professional critics and long-time fans alike. Despite that, the anime adaptation of that story remains as popular as ever, with a market research firm naming the series the "most in-demand show of 2021," and the series taking home Crunchyroll's most recent Anime of the Year award.
Attack on Titan: The Final Season - Part 2 is currently streaming on Crunchyroll, Funimation and Hulu. The series is also available on network television in the United States through Cartoon Network's Toonami block. Isayama's complete manga series is now available in English from publisher Kodansha USA.
