A new Isekai Quartet the Movie: Another World trailer released.
As reported by Comic Natalie, the trailer highlights the all-star cast of isekai characters that will appear in the film, including characters from Re:ZERO, The Rising of the Shield Hero, KonoSuba: God's Blessing on this Wonderful World, and Overlord. The movie will also feature three new original characters: Pantagruel, a girl with an eyepatch who will be voiced by Assassination Classroom's Minami Tanaka; Vera Mitrohina, a female soldier who will be portrayed by Persona 5 and Boruto: Naruto Next Generations' Nana Mizuki; and finally, Alec, a mysterious man who will played by Toshiyuki Morikawa, who recently starred in the critically acclaimed Belle as Justin.
Isekai Quartet began in 2019 with a 12-episode anime series. The series takes characters from several of publisher Kadokawa's most popular isekai series and transports them into yet another world, where they all begin to go to school together. The anime series featured most of the original voice actors from all of the shows it pulled characters from. Predictably, the massive crossover was very popular and received a second season in 2020, which added characters from The Rising of the Shield Hero and Cautious Hero to its already stacked roster. In addition to the new movie, a third season of the crossover series has been confirmed to be in production.
Many of the shows featured in Isekai Quartet are also set to get their own continuations as well. The Rising of the Shield Hero's oft-delayed second season is scheduled to premiere on April 6. Shield Hero recently crossed over with another popular isekai series, Bofuri, as both anime teamed up to promote their upcoming new seasons. Overlord's fourth season is set to premiere a few weeks later in July. The long-awaited third season of KonoSuba has also been confirmed to be in production, but a premiere date for the return of Kazuma's hilariously inept adventuring guild has yet to be announced.
The first two seasons of Isekai Quartet are now available for streaming on Crunchyroll. Some of the series it pulls characters from, such as Overlord, were previously exclusive to Funimation's streaming service, but with parent company Sony now consolidating all of its anime content under a single brand, every anime featured in the crossover is now available on Crunchyroll. Sony purchased the anime streamer in 2021 for a reported $1.1 billion USD.
Isekai Quartet the Movie: Another World will premiere in Japan on June 10. An international release has yet to be announced.
