WARNING: The following contains spoilers for My Hero Academia Chapter 345, "Division,” by Kohei Horikoshi, Caleb Cook and John Hunt, available now in English from Viz Media.
The battle for the future of Hero society has begun in earnest, and it looks like All Might's plan has given the Pro Heroes a much-needed early advantage. Thanks to Monoma Neito's help, they've succeeded in their main goal of separating All For One and Shigaraki Tomura -- but Toga Himiko's spur-of-the-moment decision may have complicated their battle plans.
After baiting All For One and his army of villains into a charge, the cage trap set by the heroes activated and detained them. It only managed to keep the villains captured for a few seconds, but it was more than enough time for their cages to be pushed through the Warp Gates Monoma had ready and waiting. The villains were split into three main groups, each of them having at least one high-ranking League member.
All For One, along with a majority of the villains, was teleported to Gunga Mountain. Using one of his unnamed Quirks, he was able to instantly re-orient himself and quickly deduced part of the heroes' plan. All For One commended their decision to split his force up, but boasted that it was unlikely the heroes could beat them separately anyway.
MHA's grand villain was confronted by the greater part of the heroes' force, including both Numbers 1 and 2, Endeavor and Hawks. Kamui Woods, Pixie-Bob and Fumikage Tokoyami are among the many others who have joined this fight. All For One seems poised to fight, but he may well decide to pursue Shigaraki since he's realized the heroes' plan. The heroes may well be forced into the most important race of their lives.
The Todoroki brothers, Toya and Shoto, were pitted against each other because of their Quirks' compatibility but also because they've got a private score to settle. Their battle may not be a long one though -- Dabi looks a few minutes away from death's door -- but as the culmination of several years' worth of internal Todoroki family drama, it's sure to be as important as the others. Iida Tenya joined Shoto in confronting Dabi, and the duo seem to have their work cut out for them facing both him, the Nomu and the other villains who joined them.
Shigaraki was transported to the now sky-borne UA. Principal Nezu had mentioned earlier that the school itself could travel, and MHA Chapter 345 showed exactly what he meant. In case All For One decides to pursue Shigaraki, the structure itself could move and delay his arrival -- but it's unlikely it could fully outrun him. Shigaraki was supposed to face the combined might of Bakugo Katsuki, Best Jeanist and Midoriya Izuku but Deku was pulled away. At the very last second, Toga pulled him through the Warp Gate she was forced into.
Interestingly, Deku's Danger Sense wasn't activated by Toga's actions. The Quirk doesn't alert Deku to everything happening around him, only activating when it senses ill intent directed toward him. Its idleness may mean Toga doesn't want to attack just yet, but a more frightening possibility exists. My Hero Academia has already shown Toga's ability to completely erase her presence from her opponent's senses. Perhaps even Danger Sense isn't immune to this.
Toga was transported with several Nomu and was supposed to face Uraraka Ochaco and Tsuyu Asui. She may not be as intimidating a foe as All For One or Shigaraki but their fight will be no less dangerous. The problem here is that Deku’s absence from UA tosses a giant wrench in the heroes' plans. Deku’s conversation with Toga is undoubtedly important but unless Bakugo and Best Jeanist can keep Shigaraki occupied, Toga might as well have won the war for the villains.
