Demon Slayer: Entertainment District Arc’s English Dub Sets Funimation Premiere Date

The English dub of Demon Slayer; Kimetsu no Yaiba's "Entertainment District" arc will be available to stream on Funimation from Feb. 20.

Funimation revealed that the first episode of the critically acclaimed arc's English dub will hit its streaming service on Feb. 20, with the remaining 10 episodes to be released weekly until May 1. Audiences will be able to enjoy the arc with the return of many of their favorite English voice actors, including Zach Aguilar (One Punch Man) as Tanjiro Kamado, Abby Trot (Kuroko's Basketball) as Nezuko Kamado, Aleks Le (Tokyo Revengers) as Zenitsu Agatsuma and Bryce Papenbrook (Attack on Titan) as Inosuke Hashibara. Ray Chase (Jujutsu Kaisen) will also make his series debut by voicing Sound Hashira, Tengen Uzui. This news comes hot on the heels of the ending of the Japanese version of the "Entertainment District" arc, which aired its last episode on Feb. 13.

Taking place in a Taisho-era Japan plagued by dangerous former humans known as "demons," Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba follows Tanjiro Kamado, a teenage boy whose life is changed forever when his entire family is killed by one of these beasts. His younger sister, Nezuko, manages to survive, however, but begins transforming into a demon herself and thereby obtains the supernatural powers that these creatures posses such as super strength and regeneration.

Determined to find a way to turn Nezuko back into a human again, Tanjiro tirelessly trains to join the Demon Slayer Survey Corps, a group of warriors dedicated to eradicating all demons. Tanjiro begins an epic journey where he  encounters many friends and foes, all while trying to hunt down the demon responsible for his family's death.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba was created by Koyoharu Gotouge and has enjoyed immense success since its manga began its serialization in February 2016. With its 150 million+ copies in circulation as of Feb. 2021, it has become the eighth best-selling manga series of all time due to its complex characters, gorgeous art, well-developed world and incredible action scenes. The first season of its anime adaptation by studio Ufotable received the "Anime of the Year" award at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards in 2020. Its direct sequel film, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train, was also the highest-grossing movie of 2020, making it the most successful anime and Japanese film in history. More recently, Ufotable announced that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is returning for a third season through adapting the manga's "Swordsmith Village" arc for television. It has not yet been revealed when the new arc will premiere, however.

Both seasons Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba can be streamed now on Funimation, Hulu and Crunchyroll, along with the film.
