Jujutsu Kaisen, PUBG Mobile Debut Trailer for Domain Expansion Event

A new trailer for PUBG Mobile's new Jujutsu Kaisen event released.

The new video gives Jujutsu Kaisen fans an idea of how their favorite characters will look when translated over to the world of PUBG. The new crossover event, named Domain Expansion, will run in the mobile game from Feb. 15 until March 15. The main draw of the new event is a new themed mode, which is available on both the Erangel and Livik maps, where plays can do battle with Cursed Corpses and seek out Sealed Sukuna Fingers, which unlock special achievements when found.

During the crossover, players will be able to earn special Cosplay Sets that will allow them to dress their avatars up like several characters from the popular anime and manga series, including main protagonist Yuji Itadori, the stoic Megumi Fushiguro, the powerful sorcerer Satoru Gojo, or the pain-sharing exorcist Nobara Kugisaki, who recently won the award for Best Girl at this year's Crunchyroll Anime Awards. Players can also earn other Jujutsu Kaisen themed awards, such as car and weapon skins, avatar accessories, emotes and the Cursed Corpse Cathy companion.

PUBG Mobile originally launched for iOS and Android devices in 2018. The game is a spinoff of Player Unknown's Battlegrounds, which helped to popularize the battle royale sub-genre of multiplayer shooters. The mobile title was developed by Lightspeed & Quantum Studio, a division of Chinese media conglomerate Tencent. The game received positive reviews upon its launch, with many reviewers commending the title for how much of the original PC experience it managed to bring to mobile platforms.

Jujutsu Kaisen tells the story of Yuji Itadori, a young man who is accidentally drawn into the world of the supernatural after he accidentally becomes the vessel for Ryomen Sukuna, a powerful but sadistic sorcerer. Yuji is brought to Tokyo Jujutsu High, a special high school for sorcerers, with the hope that he will learn how to control Sukuna's powers and use them to fight against monsters known as Curses, which are born from humanity's negative emotions. The series was created by Gege Akutami in 2017. The manga has rapidly become one of the most popular series in the history, with over 60 million copies in circulation around the world. An anime adaptation, produced by studio MAPPA, completed its first season in 2021 and recently announced that its second season would premiere in 2023. The franchise's first movie, Jujutsu Kaisen 0, premiered in Japan in December and is scheduled to be released internationally next March.

The manga is available in English in both print and digital formats from VIZ Media, while the anime series is available for streaming on Crunchyroll and Funimation.
