Chateau Noble the bounty hunter and the mysterious Song Ryang-Ha were tentative allies when they first met, but as of Episode 5, they have become more trusting allies than ever before. In Episode 4, Hou took Chateau hostage, and Ryang-Ha defeated him and saved Chateau's life yet again. Now it's time for a vacation.
Chateau and Ryang-Ha both recover from their mission, and then Chateau gets her next job -- to board a cruise ship, the Artemisia, and guard her boss's VIP friend for a week. Ryang-Ha boards the ship as Chateau's unofficial teammate, but so does a new enemy who wants Ryang-Ha and Chateau dead. This won't be an ordinary tropical cruise.
In Episode 5, Chateau's boss Euripedes is persuaded to accept Song Ryang-Ha as an unofficial ally, even though Euripedes wants Ryang-Ha dead. For now though, Chateau's borderline yandere admirer and boss agree to an awkward truce, and just in time for a brand-new mission. Up until now, Ryang-Ha has been helping Chateau with her bounty hunting job to impress her, and this next mission will be no different. Chateau and her co-workers Jim and Euripedes board a luxury cruise ship named the Artemisia, and at the same time, Ryang-Ha boards the ship independently, all for Chateau's sake. Euripedes won't buy a ticket for Ryang-Ha or hire him in his company, but he also won't necessarily object if Ryang-Ha happens to be on the same ship as Chateau.
For now, Euripedes and Song Ryang-Ha aim to stay out of each other's way as awkward allies, but aboard the Artemisia, their tentative truce is sure to be tested. This ship may be big, but if fighting breaks out, Euripedes' group and Ryang-Ha are almost guaranteed to cross paths, especially if Chateau is in danger and both Euripedes and Ryang-Ha intervene to help her. Then again, it's possible that, after having to be rescued twice, Chateau might step up as the hero and save Ryang-Ha's life for once, or even save Jim's or Euripedes' life if things go sideways. Chateau was taken by surprise each time when Hou attacked her, but the Artemisia might tell a different story.
The closing scenes of Episode 5 introduce a brand-new threat for Ryang-Ha and Chateau to face: a mysterious blond boy who acts cheerful and carefree when he boards the Artemisia. On the outside, he is younger and happier than Hou ever was, and it's not yet clear if this is a total facade or if this boy is the "funny but deadly" kind of anime villain. Unless Ryang-Ha's instincts are razor-sharp in this story arc, he may not see this assassin coming until it's too late, and for once, he might need Euripedes' or Chateau's help when that happens. The Artemisia will have many crowds, corners and rooms for the assassin to hide in, and not even Ryang-Ha has eyes on the back of his head. This could turn ugly.
At the same time, the new story arc may shed light on Euripedes' personal history and character, since the VIP he's guarding happens to be a successful businessman and personal friend. Already, Love of Kill has established Euripedes as an old friend and guardian of Chateau's from many years ago, and it's possible that this VIP will tie into that somehow.
Even if that's not the case, future episodes taking place aboard the Artemisia may reveal more of Euripedes' friendship with that VIP, proving what kind of friend Euripedes really is. If things get bad, Euripedes might take a bullet for his friend, just the way Ryang-Ha has already taken a bullet for Chateau. If so, Euripedes will prove himself an excellent boss and friend, and even Ryang-Ha might be humbled. No matter what happens, Chateau is in good hands with Ryang-Ha and Euripedes around, even if her newest enemy has the element of surprise on his side -- but only if Chateau's allies stay on their toes aboard this deceptively cheery cruise ship.
