Upcoming anime film Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan’s Island will premiere on June 3!
The film's main cast and character art were revealed along with the opening date. Gundam veteran Toru Furuya will return to play Amuro Ray alongside Ken Narita as Bright Noa, Satomi Arai as Mirai Yashima, Megumi Han as Sayla Mass, Toshio Furukawa as Kai Shiden, Hideki Nakanishi as Hayato Kobayashi, Misato Fukuen as Fraw Bow, and Tomofumi Ikezoe as Sleggar Law.
Based on the 15th episode of the original 1979 Mobile Suit Gundam anime, the story follows a 15-year-old Amuro Ray, who ventures to the "Island of No Return” under orders to track down Zeon deserters. There, he finds a man calling himself Cucuruz Doan.
Character designer Atsushi Tamura has also released a celebratory illustration featuring Amuro with the RX-78-02 Gundam.
Mobile Suit Gundam: Cucuruz Doan’s Island opens in Japan on June 3, 2022.
