Fights aren't anything new in anime and a majority of anime fights end up being the most intense and interesting scenes in a series. However, there are times where an action-packed fight isn't needed for a scene to be impactful. Sometimes, the power of words and the emotions portrayed become the most impactful way to convey an argument.
Even if these verbal disagreements lead to a full-on fight, it's always the intense conversation that stands out as memorable. The outcome of these arguments may all be different, but there's no denying the intensity that's present within all of them.
10 Meliodas & Ban's Dispute Cuts A Fight Short (The Seven Deadly Sins)
During the Vaizel Festival, Ban and Meliodas are up against two demons they have to defeat. Ban and Melidoas are two of the strongest characters in The Seven Deadly Sins, so this fight ends shortly and easily. What's so memorable about is is that neither character was focused on the fight. Instead, they were too occupied with a completely unrelated side argument where they're comparing who's better between Elaine and Elizabeth. This argument is more on the comedic side, but that's what makes the intensity of it so fun.
9 Kurapika & Leorio Disagree The Minute They Meet (Hunter X Hunter)
What started as a simple question almost led to a full-on fight, as both Kurapika and Leorio's pride got the better of them in Hunter X Hunter. Leorio wants Kurapika to refer to him formally by using proper honorifics with no explanation as to why, and Kurapika finds it pointless and refuses to acknowledge him that way.
They reluctantly answer the question as to why they want to become hunters, but this still doesn't resolve their sudden feud. The timely storm adds to the drama of this scene, and they eventually find common ground and apologize for their previous overreactions.
8 Joseph & Ceasar Still Can't See Eye To Eye (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure)
Joseph Joestar and Ceasar Zeppeli initially hated each other in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. Although they eventually resolved their differences, they still couldn't see completely eye-to-eye. While in Saint Moritz, Kars is within reach, and they decide to initiate a plan of action as to not risk any failures or casualties. Caesar's pride prevents him from making a rational decision, and he gives in to his desire to avenge his father and grandfather. Ignoring Joseph and taking on the Pillar Men alone ultimately leads to his defeat at Wamuu's hands.
7 Betrayal Leads To Questions That Demand Answers (Attack On Titan)
After Reiner and Bertholdt's betrayal in Attack on Titan, Eren rightfully feels betrayed and finds a perfect opportunity to ask some much-needed questions. He calls out Reiner and Bertholdt about what happened the day they infiltrated the wall and destroyed Shiganishina. Bertholdt can't even look Eren in the eye and Reiner can barely hold himself together.
Ymir points out Reiner's clear signs of split personality and has questions of her own, yet Eren has had enough of the lies being told in every direction. Eren and Reiner snap. Fueled by frustration, they list reasons why both are victims of the same predicament, while Bertholdt calmly states a poor excuse of an apology.
6 Hinata & Kageyama Finally Reach A Breaking Point (Haikyuu!!)

Hinata thinks that he and Kageyama should change up their infamous quick attack, which Kageyama disagrees with. After a long day of practice, Hinata asks Kageyama to set for him and asks Yachi to assist. This is where they finally snap, as Kageyama calls him selfish and states that he'll bring the whole team down if he continues overworking the team.
5 Kacchan Comes Clean During His Fight With Deku (My Hero Academia)
This particular argument in My Hero Academia led to a reveal that changed the tone of Katsuki Bakugo's character completely. Bakugo eventually learns the truth behind Deku and All Might's relationship, as well as how Deku suddenly received a Quirk. When the fight pauses halfway through, Bakugo breaks down and tells Deku his problems, asking how someone who was always weaker than him has managed to surpass him. This confession is very out of character for Bakugo, as he's showing weakness for the first time. The frustration Bakugo has been building up finally comes out as an intense confession at the climax of an unnecessary fight that was fueled by jealousy.
4 A Lifelong Friendship Is Lost In The Fight For Freedom (Attack On Titan)
In Season 4 of Attack on Titan, Eren has had a big change in character. His confession conversation with Armin and Mikasa showed this the most. The entire cast of Attack on Titan has suffered greatly, but this trio has always managed to stay strong as a group, so this confrontation was a surprise. As they all calmly sit around a table, emotions drive the conversation. When Eren reveals his fight for freedom, fans are left wondering whether the things discussed were the truth or just a strategic move.
3 Hatoko Doesn't Understand (When Supernatural Battles Became Commonplace)
Ando's chuunibyo behavior and boasting about things he supposedly knows everything about finally got on Hatoko's last nerve, as all she wanted was to understand more about her friend. Mio and Yukko are best friends despite being opposites in every way. What started as an innocent mishap over the difference between fried noodles and fried mackerel led to a shouting match that eventually had nothing to do with the food in question. Insults about anything they can think of are thrown at one another and the rest of the class can do nothing but watch the whole thing unfold. Even though they make up at the end of the ordeal, this scene sums up their relationship well. Even the smallest of things can set them off, but they remain close friends regardless.

When the Going Merry is damaged beyond repair in One Piece, the Straw Hats make the hard decision to let her go and get a new ship. What makes this argument so sad is the fact that it's between two members of the crew who've always been exceptionally close. Seeing them have such polarizing opinions over an emotional decision is heartbreaking. It's out of character for both of them, and to this day, Usopp is the only Straw Hat member to temporarily walk away from the crew.
