WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2, Episode 14, "Transformation," now streaming on Funimation, Hulu and Crunchyroll.
Season 2, Episode 14 of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba had fans around the world putting on clown makeup for thinking that Daki was the ultimate villain of the "Entertainment District" arc. After literally being stomped to pieces by Nezuko Kamado and then beheaded without a backward glance by Tengen Uzui, Daki quickly went from an intimidating demon to a petulant child. Tengen's insistence that Daki is too weak to be an Upper-Rank demon sent her into a crying fit in which she called out for her brother Gyutaro. As ugly as his sister is beautiful, this new demon ominously emerged from his sister's back, also bearing the mark of Upper Six.
The intense battle with Daki up to this point feels almost silly now, considering Tengen Uzui decapitated her several minutes before she or anyone else even realized it. Although he initially dismissed Daki as so weak to be unworthy of his notice, the Sound Hashira's guard went up when he realized that her body was not disintegrating despite the fact that her head was in her lap. Once she called out for her brother, Tengen struck even before Gyutaro completely emerged from Daki's body, and still, the new demon avoided the blow and dismissively kept his back to the stunned Hashira.
Gyutaro was more concerned with Daki's well-being than he was with the Hashira who'd just tried to kill him, and it's clear these sibling demons have a genuine bond. When Tengen struck again, Gyutaro not only dodged him completely but scored a deep cut on the Sound Hashira's head. The grotesque demon was impressed that Tengen escaped with only a scratch since the demon was going for the kill. Considering that Tengen needed no effort to behead Daki and his best effort has gotten him nowhere with Gyutaro, things are definitely about to get even bloodier in Demon Slayer.
There's just something about Tengen Uzui that sets people off, because as with Zenitsu earlier in the season, Gyutaro grows angry when he notices how hot Tengen is. It's bad enough for Gyutaro that this man has been bullying his sister, but that he's so big, strong and handsome is salt in the wound. Gyutaro himself is skeletally thin, covered in scars and blemishes, and constantly gouging out his own skin when distressed. Once Gyutaro learned that Tengen has three wives, he unleashed his Blood Demon Art and the real battle against Upper Six began.
The power gap between Tengen Uzui and the boys is clearer than ever, considering Tanjiro barely survived his battle with Daki despite being a mere insect to the Sound Hashira. Now that Gyutaro is on the loose, Tengen will be the only one who can stop him. However, unlike what happened on the Mugen Train, Tanjiro, Inosuke and Zenitsu won't be watching helplessly from the sidelines, as Daki is back to full strength and ready to fight alongside her brother. A division of labor is imminent, as Tengen will likely have to face Gyutaro alone while the boys do their best to keep Daki occupied.
Considering that Daki didn't die when beheaded, Tengen suspects that Gyutaro is the main body of the two and only his decapitation can kill either one of them. Facing off against a demon who is stronger and faster than Tengen and his sister who can’t be killed, things are looking grim for the group of Demon Slayers. As Gyutaro exclaims that he and Daki are two people in one, the brother-sister duo who share the title of Upper-Rank Six of the Twelve Kizuki is ready for battle as Demon Slayer continues.
