Naruto’s Team 7 Returns in a New Line of Highly Posable Figures

Naruto Shippuden's Team 7 returns in the latest collection from Bandai's SH Figuarts line.

The trio of ninja were announced on Bandai's Tamashii Nations website and are already available for preorder. As with previous figures in the SH Figuarts line, the new Naruto, Sasuke and Sakura toys are fully posable and are capable of recreating each characters' trademark attacks and iconic poses. Each figure will come with multiple hands, swappable face plates, and various effects pieces. According to the website, these new figures will feature strengthened joints and three-piece shoulder articulation to allow for a wider ranger of poses than earlier figures. Naruto will come with extra parts to recreate the look of his signature Rasengan attack, while Sasuke, the most expensive figure in the collection, will be packaged with Chidori effects and the weapon he wielded throughout Part 2 of the series, the Sword of Kusanagi.

Each figure will be sold at a different price point: Naruto will be the most affordable at 3,500 yen (slightly more than $30 USD,) while Sakura will retail for 5,000 yen (about $43 USD,) and Sasuke will set back collectors 5,500 yen (approximately $47 USD). All three figures are now available for preorder through a variety of specialist retailers online, and are scheduled to be released together in June 2022.

The new Shippuden figures are being released as the Naruto franchise celebrates the 20th anniversary of the original anime series' premiere. At the most recent Jump Festa event in Dec. 2021, the series' producers revealed the first pieces of art meant to commemorate the show's big anniversary: a new logo, which shows the titular ninja at different stages of his life, and a new illustration, which shows a young Naruto being comforted by his older self, who has finally achieved his dream of being the Hokage and has earned the respect of everyone in the village. The series' producers have teased that there will be more new releases and announcements related to the anime's 20th birthday throughout 2022.

The new Naruto Shippuden collectibles are just the latest shonen anime heroes to join Bandai's SH Figuarts line. The company also recently opened up preorders on a new collection of Dragon Ball figures, which recreate Goku, Piccolo, Vegeta and Gohan as they appear in the upcoming Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie. The SH Figuarts brand also includes figures from Jujutsu Kaisen, Sailor Moon and several non-anime properties, including video game icon Pac-Man and several characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
