A fan-made flipbook brings an epic battle from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba to life with striking fluidity.
Available on the Its Flipbook Time YouTube channel, the flipbook depicts the brawl between protagonist Tanjiro Kamado and the boar's-head-wearing Inosuke Hashibira. The drawings are highly detailed, both in terms of the characters and the woodland backdrops, and the movement is incredibly smooth.
This isn't the only Demon Slayer flipbook that can be found on the YouTube channel; there are also ones that showcase Kyojuro Rengoku versus Akaza and Tanjiro versus Rui. Moreover, Its Flipbook Time features a wealth of flipbooks for other popular anime series like Dragon Ball Super, My Hero Academia, The Seven Deadly Sins, Attack on Titan, One Piece, Dragon Ball Z and Haikyuu.
Koyoharu Gotouge's Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga debuted in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump in February 2016, completing its run in May 2020 with 23 volumes worth of content. It tells the story of Tanjiro, an intelligent and kind young boy who lives in the mountains with his family. However, when his parents are murdered by demons and his sister, Nezuko, is transformed into one, he sets out on a journey to become a demon slayer.
An anime adaptation of the story premiered in April 2019 and is currently ongoing. Produced by Ufotable and directed by Haruo Sotozaki, the series stars Natsuki Hanae as Tanjiro, Akari Kitō as Nezuko and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Inosuke. Both the manga and anime have experienced profound success; with over 150 million copies sold globally as of February, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is one of the best-selling manga of all time, and the first season of the anime won Anime of the Year at the 2020 Crunchyroll Anime Awards.
The Inosuke versus Tanjiro flipbook is only one of many recent examples of impressive fan-made Demon Slayer content. Popular cosplayer Unicorn Astronaut fused the holiday season and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba to make a festive but intimidating Inosuke costume. Moreover, the artistic duo known as Wizyakuza created digital portraits of Demon Slayer characters that have the illusion of three-dimensional depth.
There have been more developments in the franchise than just fan-made content recently. Not only is the anime adapting the Entertainment District arc, but multiple new collectibles are currently available for preorder. This includes Premium Bandai's replicas of Inosuke's dual Nichirin swords and The Good Smile Company's 1/4 scale figurine of Kyojuro that retails for a jaw-dropping amount.
