The first officially colored image of Vegeta in his Ultra Ego form from Dragon Ball Super has been revealed.
The new image was posted online by Twitter Account @DBSChronicles. The illustration, which was drawn by Dragon Ball Super manga artist Toyotarou himself, shows Ultra Ego Vegeta in all of his purple glory, doing battle with Granolah, the vengeful Cerealian who blames the Saiyans for the destruction of his race. Goku is also shown in his Perfected Ultra Instinct form. The new illustration is just one of several pieces of art manga publisher Shueisha has released to promote its upcoming Jump Festa event, which is a yearly celebration of the Shonen Jump manga magazine, where Dragon Ball was originally published. In addition to the new Vegeta art, the publisher also recently released new art from other popular series from the magazine, including One Piece, My Hero Academia, and Jujutsu Kaisen.

Vegeta's Ultra Ego form debuted in Dragon Ball Super's current arc, Granolah the Survivor. Toyotarou recently revealed that he was the one who came up with the new form's name and appearance. According to the artist, it was intended to be the mirror of Goku's Ultra Instinct form; while Goku's Ultra Instinct takes design cues from the Guide Angel of Universe 7, Whis, Vegeta's Ultra Ego is instead influenced by the God of Destruction, Beerus. This explains the purple color scheme for Ultra Ego, which matches Beerus' cat-like appearance, and why Goku's Perfect Ultra Instinct Form takes on Whis' silver hair.
Toyotarou signed the illustration with "Welcome to JF 2022!!" The Jump Festa event will officially begin on Dec. 18 and is being held as a hybrid event. In-person activities will be held at the Makuhari Messe convention center in Chiba, Japan. Fans who can't make it to the celebration in person can still take part in the event through Shonen Jump's official YouTube channel, which will livestream the festival's various announcements and reveals. The livestream is scheduled to begin on Dec. 18 at 6:00 P.M. JST. Shueisha has promised a number of big reveals for this year's Jump Festa, including new details about the upcoming return of the Bleach anime, new information about the Black Clover movie, a reveal of new art for Haikyuu!!'s anniversary, and a new trailer for the anime adaptation of Tatsuya Endo's acclaimed Spy x Family manga.
