Star and Stripe made a big impression with fans in this week's My Hero Academia chapter.
SPOILERS FOR MY HERO ACADEMIA CHAPTER 331
The new chapter sees America's top pro-hero continuing her battle with All For One, who has almost completely taken over the body and will of Tomura Shigaraki. Star and Stripe makes full use of her ability, New Order, which allows her to the alter the rules of reality surrounding two objects or living things at a time. She creates a giant version of herself to squash Shigaraki/All For One, and then impales him with a massive spear made of concentrated lasers. Despite this, All For One seems more amused by her powers than threatened. The chapter ends with the United States sending a volley of intercontinental ballistic missiles to the battlefield, with Star and Stripe intending to blast the super villain apart.

This fight between Shiggy and Star and Stripe is such a breath of fresh air for the series. The setting and choreography of this fight is so different from anything we’ve ever seen in MHA. Fight chreo is one of Hori’s common criticisms and he’s made great strides to rectify that. pic.twitter.com/1GYq1GLrqZ

In general, fans of the series across social media were impressed with Star and Stripe's impressive display of her powers, praising her sheer brute strength and her Quirk's unpredictable and unconventional abilities. With the series now setting up an ultimate final confrontation between All For One/Shigaraki and Deku as its grand finale, it seems inevitable that the villain will come out on top for this battle, but many fans stated that they hope Star and Stripe survives the fight, as they would like to see the American hero interact more with the series' main cast of pro-heroes back in Japan.
Chapter 331 marked the return for the Weekly Shonen Jump series after a one-week hiatus. While no reason was given for the break this time, My Hero Academia has gone on hiatus several times throughout 2021, with creator Kohei Horikohi's health being cited on occasion as the reason for these breaks. Horikoshi released a statement several weeks ago apologizing for the manga's hiatuses. It was announced earlier this year that My Hero Academia was nearing its conclusion, with Horikoshi stating that the series has already gone on for longer than he originally anticipated.
While the manga may end soon, MHA fans can still find some comfort in the series' anime adaptation, which still has plenty of material left to cover: the TV anime's producers have already confirmed that the series will return for a sixth season, which will adapt the manga's Paranormal Liberation War arc. The third and latest movie in the series, World Heroes' Mission, began its international theatrical run on Oct. 29. The movie opened in fourth place in the United States but is still the highest grossing movie in the franchise.
