A never-aired episode of Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S, titled "Nippon no Omotenashi (Attend wa Dragon Desu)" (Japanese Hospitality (My Attendant Is a Dragon)), will be one of the exclusive features available on the anime's Volume S Blu-ray and DVD release.
A trailer is now available online that gives viewers a sneak peek of the episode's adorable and wacky hijinks. Beyond the previously unaired episode, Volume S will also include the 13 episodes of Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S Short Animation Series (Mini Dora), the three episodes of Mini Dora SP and a new Mini Dora EX episode.
Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S is the second season of the anime adaptation of the manga series by Coolkyousinnjya. The manga began serialization in Futabasha's Monthly Action in May 2013 and tells the story of Kobayashi, an office worker and programmer, and Tohru, the dragon who works as her personal maid and is in love with her. The first season of the anime premiered in January 2017 and the second season debuted in July.
Tatsuya Ishihara (Sound! Euphonium, Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya) directed Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S, replacing Season 1's director, the late Yasuhiro Takemoto (The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya, Full Metal Panic! The Second Raid). Yuka Yamada (Digimon Universe: Appli Monsters, Glitter Force) supervised the scripts for both seasons alongside Miku Kadowaki (Love, Chunibyo and Other Delusions! Take On Me, Free! The Final Stroke), who designed the characters, and Nobuaki Maruki (Violet Evergarden: The Movie, Free! - Dive to the Future-), who served as the chief animation director. Yota Tsuruoka (Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Inuyasha the Movie 2: The Castle Beyond the Looking Glass) acted as the sound director and Masumi Itō (She and Her Cat: Everything Flows, Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom) composed the music for both seasons.
Many popular and experienced voice actors appeared in both seasons of the anime series, including Mutsumi Tamura (My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal) as Kobayashi, Yūki Kuwahara (Chivalry of a Failed Night, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba) as Tohru, Daisuke Ono (Fire Force, The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of the Commandments) as Fafnir and Emiri Katō (Girl's Frontline, Battle Girl High School) as Riko Saikawa.
Volume S is scheduled for release on Jan. 19, 2022. Both seasons of Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid are available to stream on Crunchyroll and Funimation; however, while Crunchyroll has the French, Russian, German, Spanish and Portuguese dubs, only Funimation has the English dub.
