Mob Psycho 100 is the second hit manga to come from ONE, the Eisner Award-nominated creator of One-Punch Man. ONE's manga was released digitally from 2012 to 2017, and was also compiled into 16 print volumes by publisher Shogakukan. The series earned favorable comparison's to ONE's previous work and has received widespread critical acclaim, with the print editions of the series achieving a circulation of over 1.5 million copies. The series was adapted into an anime by Eureka Seven and My Hero Academia studio BONES in 2016, which was similarly well received. Following the conclusion of the manga's publication in 2017, ONE began a spinoff series based around the character Reigen in 2018.
The series tells the story of Shigeo Kageyama, better known under the nickname "Mob," a middle school age boy who would be pretty forgettable outside of one trait: he is an incredibly powerful psychic, and has to keep his emotions in check at all times to keep his powers under control. Mob eventually becomes the protege to the con-man Reigen, who says he is a psychic himself and can help the boy learn how to control his powers. However, other psychics learn of Mob and his abilities, and as trouble starts to find the young boy, he has an increasingly difficult time keeping his emotions and his power contained.
In addition to the anime, Mob Pyscho 100 was adapted into a 12-episode live-action series in 2018, which starred Hana Nochi Hare's Tatsuomi Hamada as Mob. The live-action adaptation is available for streaming in certain territories outside of Japan on Netflix.
The Mob Psycho 100 anime is available for streaming on Crunchyroll and HBO Max. The manga is localized into English and distributed in North America by Dark Horse Comics.
