A new trailer has been released for upcoming anime film Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- Aria of a Starless Night!
In preparation for the new film's alternative take on the Aincrad arc, the trailer brings fans through dramatic clashes and heartbreaking moments from previous Sword Art Online installments in less than a minute.
Another new video showcases the eight Sword Art Online theme songs performed by LiSA, including "Yuke," which will be featured in the upcoming film.
Originally a light novel series by Reki Kawahara, Sword Art Online follows talented gamer Kirito as he is trapped inside a virtual reality MMORPG, where those who die inside the game also die in real life. While searching for a way out, Kirito must fight to survive alongside another skilled player known as Asuna.
As the franchise's second anime film, Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- Aria of a Starless Night explores the beginning of the series from Asuna’s point of view.
Sword Art Online the Movie -Progressive- Aria of a Starless Night will open in Japan on October 30, 2021. It is also slated for a North American release in 2021.
