Kadokawa has released a new trailer for its upcoming anime Selection Project, which is based on the media conglomerate's Idol x Audition x Reality Show multimedia project.
The trailer gives viewers a preview of the anime's reality show format and high-energy musical numbers. It also showcases Selection Project's opening theme song "Glorious Days," which is sung by the show's nine main cast members. The show is part of Funimation's upcoming fall anime season, which also includes Season 2 of Restaraunt from Another World, Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon: The Second Act and Ranking of Kings.
Several of the show's voice actors are making their anime debut in Selection Project, including Ruri Arai as Nagisa Imau, Mizuna Shirakawa as Uta Koizumi, Nozomi Nagumo as Hiromi Hamaguri and Hina Yomiya as Nodoka Yagi. The cast also includes multiple veterans of the anime industry like Daisuke Ono (Tokyo Revengers, Appare-Ranman!), Shino Shimoji (The Case Study of Vanitas, Restaraunt to Another World) and Saori Hayami (My Senpai is Annoying, Jujutsu Kaisen).
Doga Kobo (Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle) is producing Selection Project with Daisuke Hiramaki (Shirobako) directing, Kanna Hirayama (Rent-A-Girlfriend) providing the character designs and Yōhei Kisara (The Price of Smiles) composing much of the anime's music.
Selection Project is scheduled to premiere on Oct. 1.
