King Amusement Creative dropped a new trailer for the anime adaptation of Shiro Manta's manga, My Senpai Is Annoying.
The trailer showcases the anime's comedic tone, while also spotlighting My Senpai Is Annoying's romantic subtext. Ryota Itoh (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Cowboy Bebop: The Movie) is directing the series and Yoshimi Narita (Zatch Bell, Glitter Force) is overseeing the scripts for each episode. Hiroaki Tsutsumi (Dr. Stone, Alice in Borderland) is composing the show's music with singer Yui Horie performing the ending theme song, "Niji ga Kakaru made no Hanashi" ("The Story Across the Rainbow").
The anime adaptation features a cast of veteran voice actors, including Tomonori Kusunoki (The Misfit of Demon King Academy, Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens), Shunsuke Takeuchi (Haikyu!!, Fate/Apocrypha) and Saori Hayami (Kakegurui, Jujutsu Kaisen).
First appearing in Ichijinsha's Comic POOL digital manga magazine in 2017, My Senpai Is Annoying tells the story of Futaba Igarashi, a diminutive but fierce office worker who is often mistaken for a child, and Harumi Takeda, the titular annoying senpai and the object of Futaba's romantic feelings. The manga has produced six volumes so far, and it is licensed in North America by Seven Seas Entertainment.
The My Sensei Is Annoying anime is scheduled to premiere in Japan on Oct. 9 on Tokyo MX and BS11. Currently, there is no word if or when the series will receive an international release.
