A new trailer dropped for the upcoming television anime adaptation of Tomohito Oda's Komi Can't Communicate.
Premiering Oct. 6 in Japan, Komi Can't Communicate features several veteran voice actors, including Aoi Koga (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train, A Certain Scientific Accelerator) as the titular Komi, Gakuto Kajiwara (Black Clover, Cells at Work!!) as Hitohito Tadano and Rumi Okubo (How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord, Mob Psycho 100) as Omoharu Nakanaka.
Komi Can't Communicate tells the story of timid wallflower Tadano, who tries to help popular girl Komi overcome her awkwardness and make 100 friends. Ayumu Watanabe (After Rain, Children of the Sea) is the chief director for the anime with Deko Akao (Noragami, Snow White with the Red Hair) overseeing the series composition and Atsuko Nakajima (Ranma 1/2, Tokyo Ghoul) designing the characters. The anime's ending theme song is titled "Hikareinochi" and will be performed by Kitri.
Oda originally published Komi Can't Communicate in Weekly Shonen Sunday in May 2016 after first publishing a one-shot version of the story the year prior. Viz Media is currently releasing the English version of the manga and published the 14th volume on Aug. 14.
While the Komi Can't Communicate anime will premiere on Tokyo TV in October, a live-action adaptation of the manga is scheduled to debut on Sept. 6 on NHK General.
