A new image has been released from the upcoming Kamen Rider W sequel anime, Fuuto Pi.
The new image features series protagonist Shotaro overlooking the ecologically friendly, windmill-powered city of Fuuto, which is where the original live-action series also took place. The new anime series is being adapted from the Fuuto Pi manga, which was first serialized in 2017 and was written by Riku Sanjo and illustrated by Masaki Sato. Sanjo was the head writer of the original Kamen Rider W TV series, and also worked on Kamen Rider Drive and Kamen Rider Fourze. The new anime series is being produced by Hideaki Tsukada, who also worked on W and Fourze. In a statement posted to the show's official website, Tsukada said, "I was astonished at how well scriptwriter Riku Sanjo was able to design a manga that could be read with the same breathless excitement that was generated by watching the live action W drama." The anime is currently planned to be released sometime in 2022.

Kamen Rider W debuted in 2009 and still remains one of the more beloved series within the greater Kamen Rider franchise. The series focuses on the self-proclaimed hard-boiled detective Shotaro Hidari, who teams up with a mysterious being known only as Philipp, to investigate the dangerous Gaia Memory gadgets, which have the ability to transform criminals into monsters known as Dopants. While the police are powerless to stop the Dopants, Shotaro and Philipp can each transform into one-half of Kamen Rider Double, a powerful masked warrior who is the only one capable of stopping this new monstrous threat.
Fuuto Pi isn't the only anime-related Kamen Rider project in the works. Hideaki Anno, the creator of the Neon Genesis Evangelion, will follow-up that series' finale movie Thrice Upon A Time with his return to live-action directing in Shin Kamen Rider, a theatrical reboot of the original series. Prior to Kamen Rider, Anno directed 2017's critically lauded Shin Godzilla, and has stated that he hopes to create more live-action movies in the future.
Fuuto Pi and Shin Kamen Rider are being produced as part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the 1971 premiere of the original Kamen Rider, which is available for streaming via Shout Factory's TokuSHOUTsu service.
