Top New Music To Listen to This Week

From new hit artists to veteran musicians, we have compiled a list of songs we think should take place in your playlist.

Marina — Ancient Dreams In A Modern Land

The climactic pop singer explores the mystical feminine, welcoming a bold yet delicate aesthetic that’s more effective than some of her lyrics.
Backing it up with her ambivalent pop experiments, Marina is offering a beacon out for the highly emotional people of the world.

Pariz Noir — Skin On Skin

After the release of the praised single “Save Yourself,” Florida-based Colombian R&B artist Pariz Noir announces the release of the latest single titled “Skin On Skin.” The sensual song is about being physically attracted to someone without getting involved emotionally.

The song takes an in-depth tour of a girl who grabs Pariz Noir’s attention with her appeal.

Skyzoo — All The Brilliant Things

The MC from Brooklyn, New York, Skyzoo, has a new album titled “All The Brilliant Things.”

“Free Jewelry” kicks off the album off by sampling Gap Mangione’s “Diana in the Autumn Wind” and the lyrics looking back on Sky’s career, whereas “St. James Liquor” is a celebratory boom-bap banger. Meanwhile, on “Something to Believe In,” we get a sample of the iconic Roy Ayers joint “Everybody Loves the Sunshine,” along with the concept of being blessed. “Humble Brag” speaks for itself conceptually; the vocals in the background are pleasant to the ear.

Sleater-Kinney — Path of Wellness

Path of Wellness is Sleater-Kinney’s first album without Janet Weiss since 1996’s Call the Doctor, and it spurns the accepted wisdom about what happens to bands when the most beloved lineup changes. Drum duties are handled by a roster of Portland-area musicians, including touring percussionist Angie Boylan. Fleshing out the sound further are splashes of clavinet, bass, and organ.
