WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Season 1 of Trese, now streaming on Netflix.
In Netflix's Trese, Alexandra and her team -- a mixture of supernatural soldiers and cops from the human side of Manila -- barely get the job done of banishing Talagbusao by the first season's end. The vindictive god of war returned with a vengeance to wreak havoc on her bloodline, while manipulating both realms to bring about the end of days. However, while Alexandra is able to stop him and begins mending the accords her father Anton laid down, there are some dark mysteries still lingering at the end of Season 1.
What Happened To Alexandra's Parents?
At the start of Trese, Alexandra's mother Miranda is killed by assassins after hiding her daughter away. Later, she also discovers her father, Anton, perished at the mystical Balete Tree when she disappeared for five years to train in a hellish realm. But fans are speculating if one or even both parents could really be alive.
Alexandra has a good relationship with Ibu, goddess of death, and her emissary and could always leverage her position as a future leader in the underworld to find their souls. Anton was revealed to have been tampering with souls -- and his family's lives as well -- so even if their mortal forms were killed, he could have had their essences stored away for a rebirth.
Who Is The New Assassin in Trese?
Season 1 of Trese ends with a post-credits sequence of a new assassin coming to town, wanting "Trese" dead. She's clearly targeting Alexandra or whoever else in the bloodline is alive. She cuts a scary vampire-like figure, and after eating some dock workers, we'd love to know who or what she really is, who she's working for and why she has this vendetta.
Fans are speculating she may even be Alexandra's dead twin sister, who Anton killed and turned into a blade. She was meant to be a destroyer, so Anton did this to alter a prophecy and shift Alexandra away from being Talagbusao's weapon to greenlight his rebuilding of the planet. This killer could even be another acolyte of Talagbusao, hoping to revive him.
Who Brought Talagbusao, The War God, Back?
This wasn't Talagbusao's first resurrection, as Anton and a young Alexandra sent him to a magical prison years ago. However, he was still able to manipulate everyone, which led to a civil war that claimed Anton, pushing events so that Alex would become his tool in Trese's Season 1 finale. That said, we never find out how he broke out of his prison.
The god played puppet master from General Villar's skin, begging the question of who brought him back. After all, Anton's magic is strong since he's a Lakan (shaman protector) who can bind such beings. If it's a cult, they could break the god out of the new prison Alex dropped him in.
Can Alexandra's Dagger Bring Her Sister Back?
If Alexandra's sister isn't the mysterious new assassin, fans would like to know if the dagger can still be used to bring her twin back. Trese was very vague on Anton's magic and why he had to put her soul into the dagger, but it could be a contingency measure if the world needs another Alexandra.
It might be a failsafe in case Alex ever breaks bad, whether on her own or with a figure like Talagbusao. The point is, if the girl's soul hasn't been sealed properly in the dagger, it might be able to get out -- which could shape an emotional family reunion in Season 2.
Why Did Lektro Work With Talagbusao?
Lektro (similar to Spiderman's Electro) partners with the war god to attack Alexandra's army in the Trese finale, but we never find out why. He shouldn't want to since Talagbusao admits he was playing both sides, humans and monster clans alike. This means Talagbusao knocked dominoes over for Alex's team to murder Lektro's son in the war.
As such, if Lektro hates the heroes for killing his son, shouldn't he hate the man directly responsible for it all? This makes no sense, but seeing as Lektro is a businessman, they may have struck a secret deal for wealth, power and influence.
