Based on the manga series of the same name written and illustrated by Kousuke Oono, The Way of the Househusband follows Tatsu, who was once a feared yakuza boss nicknamed "the Immortal Dragon." Tatsu retires from his life of crime in order to support his career-focused wife Miku, putting his skills to use by doing housework and completing various domestic tasks. The manga was previously adapted into a live-action television drama, which ran for 10 episodes on Japan's Nippon TV in late 2020. Part 1 of Netflix's anime adaption consists of five episodes, which run for an average of 16-17 minutes each.
Per an official synopsis for Netflix's The Way of the Househusband,
He was the fiercest member of the yakuza, a man who left countless underworld legends in his wake. They called him “the Immortal Dragon.” But one day he walked away from it all to travel another path—the path of the househusband! The curtain rises on this cozy yakuza comedy!
The Way of the Househusband Part 1 is streaming now on Netflix. Part 2 has been announced, but does not currently have a release date.
