A new trailer for the final episodes of Attack on Titan has premiered online.
Crunchyroll released the new trailer, which opens with scenes from the first three seasons before shifting into a collection of scenes from the final three episodes. "Every lie exposed. Every secret revealed. Every allegiance attacked," the trailer says, also calling Attack on Titan "the most titanic anime of a generation."
The trailer ends with the reveal that the Attack on Titan series finale will air on March 28th. Only three episodes, counting the series finale, remain in the fourth and final season. The Attack on Titan manga is also wrapping up, with the final chapter set to debut this spring.
Based on the manga by Hajime Isayama, Attack on Titan focuses on a war between mankind and the flesh-eating Titans. Series protagonist Eren Yeager seeks vengeance against the Titans for killing his family -- and in a cruel twist of fate, is able to transform into a Titan himself. The series is animated by MAPPA, who also animates Jujutsu Kaisen and will handle animation duties for Netflix's upcoming Yasuke anime series starring LaKeith Stanfield as the titular samurai.
The official synopsis for the final season of Attack on Titan reads:
It’s been four years since the Scout Regiment reached the shoreline, and the world looks different now. Things are heating up as the fate of the Scout Regiment—and the people of Paradis—are determined at last. However, Eren is missing. Will he reappear before age-old tensions between Marleyans and Eldians result in the war of all wars?
New episodes of Attack on Titan will premiere on the Crunchyroll website, with new chapters of the manga also debuting on Crunchyroll and through Kodansha Comics.
