Trailer Round-Up: Adventure Time & Fresh Prince Prep for a Big Thanksgiving

As 2020 nears its end and with the holiday season rapidly approaching, a new wave of trailers is set to get audiences excited for new programming coming to various streaming platforms in time for Thanksgiving weekend. In addition to the Turkey Day arrivals, new promos herald the launch of the PlayStation 5, joining the Xbox Series X|S this week to kick off the latest home console video game generation, while additional trailers tease what's to come in 2021.

Here are all the biggest trailers, teasers and promos from the second week of November 2020.

Adventure Time: Distant Lands - Obsidian

The second Adventure Time revival special, Adventure Time: Distant Lands - Obsidian, is coming to HBO Max this month. While the first special had focused on BMO, the upcoming follow-up will follow Princess Bubblegum and Marceline the Vampire Queen as they examine their sibling relationship while called to defend the Glass Kingdom from an awakened dragon.

Adventure Time: Distant Lands - BMO is currently available to stream on HBO Max. Adventure Time: Distant Lands - Obsidian is set to premiere on HBO Max on Nov. 19.

Black Beauty

Disney+ is upping the ante with its new programming debuting over the entire course of November, including a new cinematic adaptation of the classic novel Black Beauty. The update of Anna Sewell's 1877 novel has a young girl who lost her family finding solace in a black horse voiced by Kate Winslet. When the two are forcibly separated, they run away from their respective homes in hopes of being reunited.

Written and directed by Ashley Avis, Black Beauty stars Mackenzie Foy, Kate Winslet, Fern Deacon, Claire Forlani and Iain Glen. The film premieres on Disney+ on Nov. 27.

Breach

Bruce Willis and Thomas Jane team up in next month's science fiction-horror flick Breach. In the film, the two find their routine cruise from Earth to a new colony across the cosmos interrupted by monstrous stowaways. With the passengers infected by a strange alien creature that turns them into ravenous zombies while dissolving them from the inside out, Willis sports everything from a futuristic assault rifle to a flamethrower to keep the zombies at bay.

Directed by John Suits from a screenplay by Edward Drake and Corey Large, Breach stars Cody Kearsley, Bruce Willis, Rachel Nichols and Thomas Jane. The film will be available to buy or rent digitally on Dec. 18, with a limited theatrical release planned.

Deathloop

With the PlayStation 5 finally out, Sony has confirmed the release date for one of its more eagerly anticipated exclusive titles, Deathloop. Developed by Arkane Studios, the first-person shooter has players portray an assassin named Colt, who's trapped in a time loop that can only be broken if he succeeds in killing eight targets on a remote island before midnight.

Developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks, Deathloop will be available exclusively on the PlayStation 5 and PC. The game is scheduled for release on May 21, 2021.

EX-ARM

One of the more head-scratching trailer premieres over the weekend was for the upcoming Crunchyroll original anime series EX-ARM. Directed by Yoshikatsu Kimura, the upcoming series is the first-time anime production by animation studio Visual Flight, with the show featuring a cyberpunk environment and CG-rendered set pieces.

EX-ARM is set to premiere in January 2021.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air

Just in time for Thanksgiving, Will Smith and the surviving main cast from the classic sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air have reunited at their familiar, Southern California mansion 24 years after the finale to the long-running series. A trailer for the reunion special on HBO Max has the cast reflect on their natural chemistry and bond as they examine the cultural impact their show had after its premiere back in 1990.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Reunion airs Thursday, Nov. 19 exclusively on HBO Max.

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life

To ring in the week of Thanksgiving, the Gilmore Girls are returning to the network where it all started for a four-night television event with the airing of the revival miniseries, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. The CW's latest trailer brings all the classic characters back to the small New England town of Stars Hollow, with each episode covering a different season for Lorelei and Rory as they continue to navigate life's trials and tribulations.

Directed and written by Sherman-Palladino and husband Daniel Palladino, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life stars Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Scott Patterson, Melissa McCarthy, Matt Czuchry, Keiko Agena, Yanic Truesdale, Jared Padalecki and Milo Ventimiglia. The four episodes will air on The CW from Nov. 23-26.

The Hardy Boys

The classic crime-solving siblings The Hardy Boys are coming to Hulu in an original crime series next month. Following brothers Frank and Joe as they move with their father to the sleepy, small town of Bridgeport, the family discovers their seaside home has more than its fair share of secrets.

Based on the beloved book series, The Hardy Boys stars Alexander Elliot as Joe Hardy, Rohan Campbell as Frank Hardy, Jennifer Hsiung as Jesse Hooper, Keana Lyn as Callie Shaw, Riley O'Donnell as Biff Hooper and Bea Santos as Trudy Hardy. The series will be available to stream Dec. 4 on Hulu.

Neverwinter: The Redeemed Citadel

The free-to-play online RPG Neverwinter is releasing the fourth and final update to its The Redeemed Citadel expansion. Based on the iconic Dungeons & Dragons franchise, the update allows players to help the archdevil Zariel as she continues to seek redemption by crusading against dark forces in the epic Blood War. Aiding a new playable race, a forge to upgrade armor and plenty of new weapons and gear, the update is set to expand the fan-favorite fantasy title as it delves into Hell.

Neverwinter: Avernus is developed by Cryptic Studios and published by Perfect World Entertainment. The fourth and final milestone for The Redeemed Citadel is available now on PC, and will arrive on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 at a later date.

The One You Feed

Comic book creators Donny Cates and Dylan Burnett have launched a new webcomic on the pay-what-want digital platform Panel Syndicate titled The One You Feed. Joined by colorist Dean White and letterer John J. Hill, the new series' motion comic trailer showcases a world overrun by darkness as the night brings out demons lurking inside people's souls to the forefront. Cates has confirmed the title will eventually receive a print release through Image Comics following its digital run.

Written by Donny Cates and illustrated by Dylan Burnett, The One You Feed #1 is available now digitally on Panel Syndicate, with a print run planned through Image Comics at a later date.

Pennyworth

The upcoming second season of Pennyworth looks to up the ante in terms of action and clandestine intrigue as its eponymous former soldier finds himself as the best chance to stop London from being completely consumed by civil war. Along the way, the future Wayne family butler meets a young Lucius Fox and a potential love interest in Melanie Troy.

Developed by former Gotham collaborators Bruno Heller and Danny Cannon, Pennyworth stars Jack Bannon as Alfred Pennyworth, Ben Aldridge as Thomas Wayne, Jason Flemyng as Lord Harwood, Paloma Faith as Bet Sykes, Ryan Fletcher as Dave Boy, Hainsley Lloyd Bennett as Bazza, Jessica Ellerby as the Queen and Simon Manyonda as Lucius Fox. Season 2 premieres Dec. 13 on EPIX.

PlayStation 5

The console wars have begun anew, with the launch of the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 this past week. A jaw-dropping ad for the PS5 included a sizzle reel of its eagerly anticipated titles, from Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Gran Turismo 7 to Horizon Forbidden West and the PS5 enhanced remake of Demon's Souls. With such a strong library of titles being released across the console's first year, the PS5 has certainly come out the gate swinging.

Sony's PlayStation 5 is on sale now in the United States and on Nov. 19 in select territories.

The Seven Deadly Sins

The fourth and final season of The Seven Deadly Sins, Dragon's Judgement, is coming next year. Netflix has released a teaser trailer for the upcoming season, with Meliodas struggling to break from the resurrection cycle he's been trapped in for millennia to reunite with his beloved Elizabeth.

Based on the manga series created by Nakaba Suzuki, The Seven Deadly Sins: Dragon's Judgement will premiere in Japan on Jan. 6. A Netflix release date has yet to be announced.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales

The most hyped title available at launch for the PlayStation 5 is Spider-Man: Miles Morales, continuing the story established in 2018's award-winning Spider-Man. The launch trailer for the game has Manhattan gripped in a turf war between the Roxxon Energy Corporation and a heavily armed gang led by the Tinkerer known as the Underground. With Peter Parker out of town, Miles proves himself more than capable of standing against the supervillains on his own.

Developed by Insomniac Games and PlayStation Studios, Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be available on both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on Nov. 12.

Supernatural

Supernatural is rapidly approaching its series finale, bringing the fan-favorite series to a close with its fifteenth season. Things have grown increasingly dire for Jack and the Winchester brothers, though, with their longtime friend and ally Castiel recently having paid the ultimate price to save Dean. In the wake of the epic losses, a promo for the series' penultimate episode has Dean adopt a dog as he, Sam and Jack prepare for the final showdown.

Supernatural stars Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins and Alexander Calvert. New episodes air Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse

The classic animated Disney gang is getting back together for a series of all-new animated shorts on Disney+ in The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse. Drawn in a style reminiscent of the classic cartoons that first introduced Mickey, Minnie, Donald Duck, Goofy and Pluto to audiences nearly a century ago, the animated series shows the beloved cast on a new serious of hijinks, reminding viewers how they helped grow Disney to its now iconic status.

The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse premieres Nov. 18 on Disney+.
