WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Boruto: Naruto Next Generations Episode 160, "To the Land of Silence," now streaming on Crunchyroll.
Naruto, as much as it was steeped in action, often leaned into comedy, as seen with Naruto's "Sexy Jutsu." The young shinobi created this technique -- one where he'd take the form of a busty naked woman covered up by smoke -- to play pranks on senior ninjas such as Kakashi and Jiraiya.
It was seen as ridiculous by his teammates, Sakura and Sasuke, but it paid dividends when he evolved it into the Harem Jutsu. This saw multiple women being created and later on, he'd reverse it to create handsome hunks, which distracted Kaguya and helped him and Sasuke beat her in her secret dimension. Now Boruto has perfected the effective (and honestly pretty creepy) technique, using it better than his dad.
Naruto's technique is all style and no substance, as it allows the target to gawk at the manifestations. Naruto taught Konohamaru how the use the move, although he didn't nail it quite as well. He did, however, show Naruto that men can be conjured instead of just women, which helped Naruto take him under the wing.
Years later, Boruto has been tinkering with the move, even using it on his dad. In Episode 160, "To the Land of Silence," he shows how much of an expert he is. When they head to the black market to find out who's peddling Hashirama's DNA, they're directed to a bar where Kirisaki, a rogue medical ninja from Kimigakure, is set to met the dealer. He's drinking with a bunch of women and trying to solicit some after-hours activity, which leads Boruto to to turn into a hot blonde. But rather than come off one-dimensional, it's a shape-shift that makes him similar to Mystique from the X-Men.
He isn't giggling and acting like a bimbo a la his dad's transformation; he actually goes over and seduces Kirisaki. Admittedly, it ups the cringe factor from the Naruto series, as Boruto is just a kid. Nonetheless, while he's not as scantily clad, the blonde has Kirisaki lusting for her as he shoos away his other suitors (who ironically seem to be transformations of their own, working for a mysterious entity). As Boruto masquerades here, he converses and act as a spy which Naruto couldn't even do. Sure, the Hokage got the jutsu right against Kaguya as all he needed was a few seconds to catch her eye, but Boruto's move is much more deeper and something that makes him the perfect covert ops agent.
He disguises himself well and lures Kirisaki in so Team 7 can intercept the deal and try to figure out who's selling dangerous genetics. As weirded out as his colleagues are, Konohamaru and Co. admit Boruto does the job well, that is until a pickpocket scuppers it and he's forced to reveal his true self. Nonetheless, they get Kirisaki, who can't help but feel nasty, in chains and move a step closer to the real threat, proving Boruto may well be on the road to being better than his dad.
