Fans have dreaded the day that One Piece ends for years. While all adventures must come to an end, it truly seemed like the Straw Hats' fun could go on forever. However, they are clearly reaching the end of the line with Kaido being one of the few auxiliary villains before the Straw Hats reach their final clash. And while there are plenty of heavy hearts surrounding the finale, there is also plenty of excitement.
The fans will get to see the Straw Hats realize their dreams, the world will learn what the One Piece truly is, and, with the fans' deepest hopes, fan ships may actually come into fruition. However, before any of that can happen, the Straw Hats will have to face off against their final foes. This list will be making a few predictions on the finale, as it surmises who each of the Straw Hats' final opponents will be.
10 Nami VS. Lafitte
One Piece has done a great job of positioning Nami as the greatest navigator around, especially since it hasn't really established that many navigators in the first place (besides Bepo). However, while their exact navigational prowess remains unknown, there is one navigator with a high enough status in the New World that could really give Nami a run for her money.
That would be the mysterious ex-policeman of the West Blue and the current navigator of the Blackbeard Pirates, Lafitte. Not much is known about Lafitte, but he does seem to have some wing-based abilities as well as some deceptive stealth abilities. Both could poise challenges for both Nami's weather and Cat Burglar abilities.
9 Brook VS. Scratchmen Apoo
Much like navigators, there aren't that many musicians in the pirating world or, at least, ones that have a comparable power and status to the Soul King himself. However, there is one guy that premiered long ago that fans just dreamed would clash with the humming skeleton. That would be the captain of the On Air Pirates and current stooge for Kaido, the "Roaring Tide" Scratchmen Apoo.
Not only would it be amazing to see Brook's sword fighting clash with Apoo's martial arts, but the anime has to develop some crazy songs to accompany their natural talents.
8 Nico Robin VS. Catarina Devon
While she's currently the smiling motherly figure of the Straw Hat Pirates, Nico Robin was once a deathly assassin for Sir Crocodile as well as a variety of other, previous organizations. Between her elusive nature and her tricky Devil Fruit, Nico Robin is a deadly force to be reckoned with.
Within the Blackbeard Pirates, there is possibly one other femme fatale who could match Robin's deadly experience. That would be the Crescent Moon Hunter, Catarina Devon. While there aren't that many specifics on her now, Catarina is clearly a cruel killer whose spear could perhaps be too quick for Nico Robin's demonic stare.
7 Tony Tony Chopper VS. Doc Q And Stronger
Tony Tony Chopper is the cute doctor of the Straw Hat Pirates whose struggled to both keep with the Straw Hats as a combatant and just a guy who has to deal with all of Luffy's injuries. His major dream opponent would have to be Blackbeard's mysterious doctor, Doc Q, as well as his trusty support horse, Stronger.
Always ones to test fate, they first debuted handing out explosive apples to unsuspecting pirates. As a doctor, Chopper is going to have a heated clash with a physician who deliberately does harm to people and is probably going to have a harsh word or two with the guy's equally sickly horse.
6 Franky VS. Bartholomew Kuma
While he may not look it, Franky is modeled after early designs for the Pacifista. The Pacifista themselves were engineered by the World Government's lead scientists, Dr. Vegapunk. During the two-year time-skip, Franky stumbled upon Vegapunk's early labs and seemed to adapt (and give his own Franky flare) to some of his original sketches. This would make Franky a Pacifista but with much more creativity and emotion than his cyborg counterparts.
This would make his ideal opponent one of the top cyborgs around, the fully turned Bartholomew Kuma. While not much is known about his current consciousness, Kuma is still a powerful robot who may or may not have a few of Kuma's original traits. Their battle wouldn't just be a test of science but perhaps the true liberation of an ex-freedom fighter.
5 Jinbei VS. Jesus Burgess
Jesus Burgess didn't have the best showing during Dressrosa and could really use a battle to really test his metal. Lucky for him, there's another helmsman along the Grand Line who could match him punch for punch.
That would be the official new member of the Straw Hats, "Sea Knight" Jinbei, whose ability to pilot a ship is only rivaled by his own martial arts abilities. Both could create an intense confrontation with The Champion. Whether it's a boat race or a true wrestling match, these two are destined to fight.
4 Usopp VS. Van Augur
Usopp hasn't had that many battles that pitted him against fellow snipers. His best bullet-for-bullet outing was against Daddy Masterson, and that encounter isn't even canon. That's why his future bout with Van Augur is so important. Besides Yassop, Van Augur is one of the most infamous snipers on the Grand Line whose marksmanship is equal parts accuracy and power.
He was not only able to shoot down birds from several miles away; but during Impel Down, he was able to shoot bullets and guns right down their barrels. His bullets even flew so fast that they were able to melt the guns. Luffy will have to really step up his game if he has to fight someone of Van Augur's deadly accuracy.
3 Sanji VS. Streusen
While a lot of entries on this list may position the Straw Hats against Blackbeard Pirates, there seems to be a noticeable gap in their lineup, specifically within their kitchen. That isn't to say that Sanji needs to fight a chef, but it would make his final encounter all the more thematically important, especially since he was raised by a fighting chef.
To date, there has only been one other chef in the One Piece world whose criminal activity and cooking skills could rival that of Sanji and Zeff: Big Mom's head chef and co-founder, Streusen. Streusen was the original constructor behind the wedding cake that Sanji miraculously remade and a magical chef who can possibly make anything. Their bout could test both their lethal martial arts as well as their culinary skills.
2 Zoro VS. Shiryu
Roronoa Zoro is destined to clash with Hawkeye Mihawk again if not, at least, become the World's #1 Swordsman. However, their battle may not likely be as heated given that they've become master and student. If Zoro's battle is really going to be life-or-death, it's going to be against the deranged ex-Head Jailer of Impel Down, Shiryu of the Rain.
Fans even speculate that Shiryu is going to kill Mihawk which will, in turn, call for Zoro to avenge his master. However the two get there, the two are gonna go sword-for-sword, and one's gonna have a few less limbs.
1 Luffy VS. Blackbeard
Last but not least, this list reaches the final battle that's been teased since the Straw Hats first entered the Grand Line. As it was eloquently put in terms of their taste in food, Blackbeard is the perfect antithesis to Monkey D. Luffy. He's a ruthless veteran who's schemed and back stabbed his way to the top.
To make matters worse, perhaps more so than Akainu, Blackbeard is the one responsible for Portgas D. Ace's death or at least his capture. He betrayed Ace as a member of his ship and would go on to use his old commander as a bartering tool to get in with the Marines. Luffy has nothing but disgust for the Admiral of the Blackbeard Pirates, and Teach himself is especially interested in Luffy' own abilities.
