Star Wars alum John Boyega revealed which line he hated saying in 2017's The Last Jedi. Rian Johnson's Episode VIII was decisive among fandom and the actors themselves, but now, Boyega is igniting the debate all over again.
After her debut in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Gwendoline Christie's Captain Phasma returned for a final confrontation with Finn in The Last Jedi. Posting on Twitter, one fan asked Boyega if he ad-libbed the line where Finn referred to his former commanding officer as "chrome dome." Boyega simply replied "Nope" with a bunch of nauseated emojis.
Nope. ?????????

The moment in question saw Finn taunt Phasma by saying, "Let's go, chrome dome," before their climactic battle. Although the fight sequence led Phasma to fall to her fiery death, it's clear some fans -- and even Boyega -- weren't happy with the line. The star previously described The Last Jedi as "a bit iffy" and disagreed with some of the choices made in it, including the decision to split Rey, Finn and Poe apart.
This isn't the first time Boyega has criticized Star Wars. He has been outspoken about the handling of Finn across the trilogy and confirmed he asked for "more after Episode VIII." As for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, he also threw shade at the twist of Kylo Ren and Rey's kiss. Much like Rey actor Daisy Ridley, Boyega said he doesn't think he'll play Finn again after Episode IX.
Directed and co-written by J.J. Abrams, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker stars Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson, Kelly Marie Tran, Joonas Suotamo, Billie Lourd, Keri Russell, Anthony Daniels, Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams and Carrie Fisher, with Naomi Ackie and Richard E. Grant. The film is now available on Digital HD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD.
