This article contains spoilers for the first three parts of Obi-Wan Kenobi, streaming now on Disney+.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is halfway through and many fans are very happy with the story that the show has been telling so far. One of the biggest mysteries of the show is from where the new Inquisitor, Reva, came. There are many fan theories circling about her origin, with the most common one being that she was a youngling in the Temple during Order 66. Inside Fortress Inquisitorius, there are some pretty terrible trophies of their conquests, and some of them may offer more proof of those theories.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is making big additions to the Star Wars universe. The series takes place 10 years after Revenge of the Sith and has already featured some moments that redefine peoples' perspectives on the Original Trilogy. Reva, the Third Sister, seems to be fitting into the story wonderfully, and many fans are excited to learn more about her character. The third part had a defining moment for the series with the reemergence of Darth Vader, and there are sure to be a couple more huge moments before the end.
The first part began with a scene inside the Jedi Temple on the night of Order 66. Many fans have speculated that Reva was one of the younglings who was seen during that sequence and that she saw Anakin aka Darth Vader, storm the Temple with the clone troopers. It was then also pointed out that other Jedi who survived, like Quinlan Vos, have been helping younglings to safety. Yet, not all the younglings were saved. Inside Fortress Inquisitorius, there are some truly sickening trophies. Alongside dozens of Jedi lightsabers, there are also a few helmets that are traditionally worn by younglings of the Order.
With those trophies in mind and the fact that Jedi have been trying to smuggle younglings to safety, it can be theorized that Reva may have been trying to get to safety when the Inquisitors or Lord Vader found her. They may have killed all the other younglings, but sensed something in her. Or she had stood up to them by tapping into the dark side. She could now be surrounded in the Fortress with memories of her time as a scared, helpless youngling, further fueling her rage against the Jedi. If she watched other younglings being killed around her, it may also offer further explanation about why she hates Obi-Wan and the Jedi so fiercely.
Reva has been slowly developing as a villain throughout the series, and while it's clear that she harbors a very personal hatred of Kenobi, it's not entirely clear as to why yet. As more of her backstory is explored, it may become more obvious that the Jedi failed her, as they failed so many others during the Purge. The pleasure with which the Inquisitors hunt down the Jedi, and possibly younglings, and keep trophies of those kills, illustrates how much the dark side has taken them over. The hatred and disgust they all have for the Jedi are deeply ingrained into their being.
Fans are eager to see if all their theories about Reva are correct, or if the show will completely surprise them with a fantastic twist. While the series has had some small issues so far, fans are extremely pleased with what they have been given up to this point. Although the story of Obi-Wan and Darth Vader has a clear ending already, Reva's story in Star Wars is just beginning.
