A week after the release of Netflix’s Stranger Things Season 4, one particularly memorable scene that has been generating buzz on social media can now be watched online -- and it comes with a hint that even more amazing moments may be coming.
Fans have been praising the most recent season for its intense themes and scenes. One of these is from Season 4, Episode 4, "Dear Billy." It features Max (played by Sadie Sink) going head to head with the show’s newest super villain Vecna in the Upside Down, while her friends are in the real world trying to save her from his grasp. After finding out from Nancy (Natalia Dyer) and Robin (Maya Hawke) that playing Max’s favorite song can bring her out of Vecna's trance, her friends use the 1985 classic "Running Up That Hill," by Kate Bush, on a cassette to allow Max to escape the Upside Down and come back to reality.

In response to the Netflix Geeked tweet that includes the scene, fans have been sharing their own reactions to it. One fan wrote, "One of the best episode climaxes I’ve ever seen in a TV show in my life," while another agreed, saying, "Impossible to imagine anything better than this scene."
The scene has not only gained popularity for Max’s character and her development, but also for Kate Bush herself, making "Running Up That Hill" climb music charts worldwide as it did back in the '80s.
The producers of the show, the Duffer brothers, say the song was chosen to express the emotions Max felt while fighting for her life. Stranger Things' music supervisor, Nora Felder, also spoke about why the classic was used and slightly altered to exemplify Max’s emotions: "It immediately struck me with its deep chords of the possible connection to Max’s emotional struggles and took on more significance as Bush’s song marinated in my conscious awareness."
Initially, there were doubts whether Kate Bush would allow the show to license her music, since the artist is known to be very selective. "We made sure to get script pages and footage for her to review, so she could see exactly how the song would be used," said Felder. Luckily, Bush was already a fan of the show and loved the impact the song would have, so she granted permission for the song to be used.
Stranger Things Season 4 is being released in two volumes. Vol. 2 will be released on Netflix on July 1.
