The upcoming She-Hulk: Attorney at Law series, scheduled to hit Disney+ soon, recently got its official age rating.
As revealed on the Disney+ streaming service, She-Hulk is rated TV-14, which is generally given to shows featuring intensely suggestive dialogue, strong coarse language, intense sexual content, intense violence.
After a long wait, the first official trailer for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law was unveiled in Mid-May. On top of introducing the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Jennifer Walters and her relationship to Bruce Banner, played once again by Mark Ruffalo, the clip also featured the return of Emil Blonsky, who was last seen in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and Titania.
As enjoyable as the trailer may have been, audiences have already started criticizing the series for the apparent quality of its visual effects, particularly when She-Hulk herself was on screen. It's unknown whether the footage utilized in the trailer is an accurate reflection of the final cut of the show or if it is still unfinished. Neither Disney nor Marvel Studios have issued any official response to the complaints.
However, VFX artist Sean Ruecroft, who has worked on a number of MCU projects, offered his own comments regarding the original design for She-Hulk. "I was at a company that did VFX for this. Apparently, she was bigger early on, but the notes kept saying to 'make her smaller'... We always roll our eyes (like we did on Sonic) but at the end of the day artists gotta follow orders."
Disney+ did drop a version of the She-Hulk trailer in a higher resolution, offering a slightly better quality of CGI. The list of visible improvements are believed to include better-defined facial features, improved skin textures, including pores; and upgraded lighting effects and details, such as clearer reflections in She-Hulk's eyes.
Details concerning the plot and characters of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law remain scarce. Actor Tim Roth, who plays Blonsky, previously teased audiences with star Tatiana Maslany's performance as Jennifer Walters. "She's amazing... It's actually jaw dropping... Her ability to absorb and then perform was quite remarkable. And she's funny. One of the signs of a good actor is their comedic touch. And she has it in spades."
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law arrives on Disney+ on Aug. 17.
