Pop culture lifestyle brand Funko, known for its Funko Pop! line of collectible figures, has been named one of America's most trustworthy companies.
Newsweek, in partnership with Statista, recently released a list of the most trustworthy companies in several different industries for 2022. In the Consumer Goods category, Funko ranked 5th out of 25 companies. The list was comprised of publicly traded companies with more than $500 million in annual revenue. A survey of 50,000 US residents was used to determine the results.
"We're both humbled and honored to be recognized alongside world renowned organizations as one of America's Most Trusted Companies," said Funko Chief Executive Officer Andrew Perlmutter in response to the news. "This award is a testament to our dedicated employees, who are committed to delighting millions of pop culture fanatics through innovation and a deep connection with our fan base." Ahead of Funko in the Consumer Goods category were Hasbro, Yeti, Proctor and Gamble, and Colgate-Palmolive.
While Funko may be known for its Pop! line, its subsidiary Loungefly has also been making some very interesting merchandise lately. Recently, Loungefly revealed its new Doctor Strange 2-themed mini-backpack and wallet to CBR. The new merchandise features the central heroes from the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, including Doctor Strange, Wong, America Chavez and Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch.
Another one of the Funko subsidiary's newest products is the Poison Ivy mini-backpack and wallet, which was also unveiled by CBR. In keeping with Poison Ivy's aesthetic, the DC Comics Poison Ivy Cosplay Mini Backpack and DC Comics Poison Ivy Cosplay Zip Around Wallet are green and made of vegan leather. Both the mini-backpack and the wallet feature ivy leaves and vines and the phrase "Nature always wins." Loungefly makes various products for fandoms such as Disney, Star Wars, Harry Potter and more.
Funko often makes exclusive Pop! figures for specific events like New York Comic Con. For the most recent NYCC, Funko released a new Carnage figure from Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Additional exclusives for the convention included a figure of Polaris from the X-Men comics as well as two variant Vinyl Soda figures of Rocket from Guardians of the Galaxy. Due to concerns about COVID-19, Funko opted not to attend NYCC in person and instead opted to sell these exclusives through Funko Virtual Con NYCC 2021.
