One Piece revealed a new look at Luffy, Nami and Zoro's new costumes.
The brand new outfits were originally revealed in black-and-white rough sketches last March, but a new set of images posted by the official One Piece Twitter account shows how the Straw Hat Pirates' new designs will look in color. One Piece Film: Red is set on an island that is hosting a music festival, and the new costumes reflect that with a blend of classic punk elements with traditional pirate gear, such as Luffy and Nami's new tricorn hats and Zoro's ruffled shirt. The series' Twitter account has yet to reveal the fully colored designs for Sanji, Usopp, Chopper, Robin and the rest of the Straw Hat crew, but those will assumedly be released sometime before the movie premieres in Japan next August.

One Piece Film: Red is the 15th in the long-running shonen adventure series. Production on the new film is being supervised by the manga's original creator, Eiichiro Oda. The movie will feature a new, still unnamed female character, whose final design was recently revealed on One Piece Film: Red's movie poster. According to Oda, the movie was inspired by his desire to add this new character to the series' cast. "I am tired of drawing legendary old grandpas in movies!," Oda stated when the film was first announced, adding, "I want to draw a new little female character! That's the character I want to make now! And that's how it started."
The script for the new movie is being penned by Tsutomu Kuroiwa, who previously wrote One Piece Film: Gold. The new film is being directed by Code Geass' Goro Taniguchi. The anime series' voice cast will reprise their roles for the movie.
While production on the new movie appears to be going smoothly, the same cannot be said for the One Piece TV anime, which is still on hiatus following the Toei Animation hacking incident that occurred on March 6. According to Toei, an unauthorized third party gained access to its private servers, which caused a shutdown of the studio's network that delayed production on a number of the company's biggest projects. In addition to One Piece, Digimon: Ghost Game has also been forced to air reruns until the studio can get back on schedule, and the release of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero has been indefinitely postponed. Toei has yet to announce when any of these series will return.
The One Piece manga is available in English from VIZ Media. The entire anime series is available for streaming on Crunchyroll and Funimation, while select seasons and movies are also available on Netflix.
