The Desert Hearts collective led by Mikey Lion, Lee Reynolds, Marbs, and Porkchop has expanded from a gathering in the Mojave Desert four years ago to a full-service label and events brand. The emerging label has previously released singles and EPs from the likes of Fritz Carlton, Lubelski, RYBO, and Kevin Anderson, who frequently appear on the lineup for Desert Hearts’ biannual festivals.
Desert Hearts Records’ latest release is Friends & Family Vol. 1, the inaugural compilation that draws together Desert Hearts newcomers and veterans. Latmun, who made his North American debut at Desert Heart’s spring edition earlier this year, premiered “Dream Supreme” on Dancing Astronaut as the first track off of the 12-track compilation, which includes house and techno selections from artists near and dear to the crew’s heart.
Label boss Mikey Lion commented “I’m really excited to put out our first Desert Hearts Records Family & Friends Vol. 1. Alongside favorite international DH veterans like Andreas Henneberg and Latmun, the compilation really highlights some of our best friends who’ve been the backbone of the Desert Hearts movement for years. They’ve been putting in work for years and this is their introduction to the world. I’m so proud of every single artist on this compilation and can’t wait for the world to hear what they’re all about.”
